Paradise season 2 episode 8 (finale): Big cliffhanger ahead?

As some of you may be aware at this point, the Paradise season 2 finale is just a mere matter of days away. Are you ready for what is to come here?
First and foremost, we hardly think we have to say that it would be some fundamental shock to see the series end with some sort of jaw-dropper, being that this is precisely what the story is built on. We’ve had so any throughout the season so far, with one of the biggest being tied to Sinatra and the events of season 2 episode 7. Is she off to see Alex and if so, is that an actual person? A machine? A time-travel device? There are still so many questions!

So while we do think that a cliffhanger is likely to end this season, there is still also a great deal of wiggle room when it comes to the exact type of ending we are going to get. You can make the case here that rather than it being some singular / plot-related mystery, we are instead moving into a direction that is largely all about setting the stage for what season 3 could look like. We saw that with Xavier taking off at the end of season 1 — we knew where he was going, but the question was what he would find in the outside world.
The only thing that we can say with a measure of confidence here is that the finale is not going to be giving us every single answer under the sun. While creator Dan Fogelman and the entire creative team did not know that they were officially getting a season 3 until recently, they likely had some assurances far in advance. They could craft the finale under the impression they would be able to pay some stuff off.
