The Bear season 5 premiere date: A February 2026 update
For those of you who are not aware, filming for The Bear season 5 is actively going on within the city of Chicago. With that, what does it mean for the future?
Well, we would love to sit here and say there is a really good chance of a lot more information coming out about the show and soon … but we can’t exactly say that with confidence. After all, the Jeremy Allen White show does a pretty remarkable job a lot of the time keeping the finer details under wraps … and why would we think that this is suddenly about to change? In the end, it probably won’t. This is one of those shows where you don’t always hear about guest stars until you see them on the screen, and that is without even discussing storylines. The end of season 4 showed Carmy expressing a willingness to walk away from the restaurant business for good; whether that is permanent is to be seen, but he does need to find something else that makes him happy.

Ultimately, we do not think that the future for The Bear is altogether different at this point than it was a month or two ago: More than likely, the show will return in late June. This has been the window for the past few seasons, and it does remain remarkable that it continues to pull that off in this era. It does help that filming typically happens in a fairly quick manner, and that there are not a lot of special effects ever needed.
As for whether this will be the final season, that much remains unclear. What we will say for now is that based on everything FX has said, it will be mostly up to executive producer Christopher Storer to figure that out.
