Euphoria season 3 spoilers: Nika King back as Rue’s mother

After what feels like more than a year of questions at this point, we can confirm that Rue’s mother Leslie Bennett will be back for Euphoria season 3.

In a new post on Instagram, the series, HBO, and Nika King herself made the news of her return official, sharing a first-look photo from the upcoming batch of episodes. The news stands out largely because of some viral jokes King made in the past, explaining that she didn’t know if she would return and needed the show to pay the bills. (She, ironically, had to later issue a statement saying that jokes are, in fact, not serious.)

Seeing Leslie back does indicate further that Rue will likely to continue putting her family through all sorts of turmoil moving forward, which really isn’t too much of a surprise. After all, early footage for Euphoria season 3 shows that Zendaya’s character is mixed up with some dangerous people, a sight that makes us think that the show is going to be one part action thriller and another part warped romance with people like Nate and Cassie. The entire show is built on the idea of generating conversation, and we don’t think that is about to change anytime soon.

Given that the third season does not arrive for a couple more months, we do think that there is a lot more to come insofar as teasers go. Just think along the lines of photos, video footage, and likely a whole lot more from the cast and creator Sam Levinson. There is no guarantee that season 3 is the final one, but it also would not be a shock due mostly to how busy most of the cast is.
