‘The Big Bang Theory’: Jim Parsons’ latest pre-season 7 gig? Begging Dwight Howard

You know that it is a big day in sports when television stars begin to get involved in their world. Unless you have been either living under a rock or are lucky enough to avoid anything related to basketball news, today is the day that NBA star Dwight Howard is due to decide between a number of different teams when it comes to his future. One of the teams on his radar is the Houston Rockets, which happens to also be the team supported by Jim Parsons of “The Big Bang Theory.” The actor grew up in the city, and remains a vocal supporter despite living and working now in Los Angeles (ironically where Howard also now works as a member of the Lakers).

In the video below, you can see Parsons’ personal plea to Howard to join the team, explaining that he grew up a major fan of the Rockets, and continues to support them in just about everything that they do. This could include supporting him if he joins the team, and he would in his mind join a caliber of great Rockets centers who have played there over the years.

So could the words of a “Big Bang Theory” star actually sway Howard at all? We know that the basketball player does love comedy, and he also likes to appeal to a wide audience … so who knows? If nothing else, it’s a smart way for the Rockets organization to get some press courtesy of a two-time Emmy-winner, who is set to start filming his seventh season of the show next month.
