Fallout season 3 spoilers: Will Mr. House return?

Coming out of the Fallout season 2 finale on Prime Video this week, it does make perfect sense to want more of certain plot threads. After all, this season brought to the forefront many new dynamics, with one of the most fascinating being that of Cooper / The Ghoul and Mr. House.

On one level, you can argue that Walton Goggins’ character is primed to move forward, especially since he has an opportunity now to head towards Barb (presumably) in Colorado. However, you can also argue that Mr. House is never truly gone, mostly through the various forms that he can still exist. This leads in a way to a fascinating chess game that could play out for some time, provided the story is there for Justin Theroux to keep turning back up.

Speaking in a post-finale interview with Nerdist, co-showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet did not necessarily confirm that House will be back; however, at the same time the door is very-much open to the possibility over time:

“I think they have a real history that we’re excited to unearth more of. I think House is deeply fascinated by Coop. And that he can’t quite understand why his algorithm keeps telling him that this figure is so important. And Coop has done a big move that confirms that this season, but is there even more to it? So, we’re excited to keep exploring those two. And I think they’re amazing on screen together, Walton and Justin have such a hilarious, incredible dynamic.”

In the end, we do believe that one of the primary goals here has to be just giving Goggins as many great scene partners as possible. Leaving the door open for House is smart, but who knows who else could come on board in due time?
