Bridgerton season 4 episode 5 teaser: Steamy times ahead…

While you may have to wait a little while longer to see a full trailer for Bridgerton season 4 episode 5 (and beyond), Netflix was still kind enough to share one thing today: A small teaser that better sets the stage for what is ahead. To the surprise of no one, they are leaning as hard as ever into the romance.

At the conclusion of part one, there was a pretty stunning reveal as we learned that Benedict wants Sophie Baek to become his mistress, something that is both incredibly frustrating and even offensive to consider. This is someone who seemed to be more progressive than this, so why would he ever stoop to this level? Is it just his continued adherence to the times and/or bad social norms? All of these are, at least per the time being, ideas to consider.

Ultimately, though, this new Bridgerton teaser (watch here) does work to at least make us feel slightly more heartened that whatever issues are present between the two will eventually go away — after all, the entirety of what we are seeing here is built on the premise of a steamy bath scene. Our general feeling is that Benedict will eventually recognize the failure of his ways and be with Sophie no matter what others think about him. Class barriers are meant to be broken down and this is one of those shows that is optimistic enough to make us think love can conquer all.

Now are there still going to be some major hurdles for them to overcome? Absolutely, and we don’t think all that conflict is internal. Still, we do think we are very-much building towards a moment or two longtime fans will enjoy.
