The Paper season 2 premiere date: A January 2026 update

Is there a chance that we are going to learn more about The Paper season 2 between now and the end of January?
Well, the first order of business here is rather simple: The spin-off for The Office was renewed some time ago, and it has been rather nice to have that information far in advance. Now, we are in a spot where we are waiting to get some more information — and we have at least something positive to share now.

In a new interview with Deadline at the Sundance Studio, star Domhnall Gleeson had the following to say when it comes to where things stand:
“I’ve got the haircut, so I’m getting back into [Ned mode] … I had a perm in our film. So, I had a real-life perm, and the perm has now been cut out so I can go back and play Ned. We’re reading scripts, and they’re really exciting. And I’m incredibly excited to get dubbed back in. It’s really nice to do something silly about journalism, which is a very serious thing.”
We do tend to think that this show does adequately find a way to balance these two things out here and there, even though it is difficult. After all, a big part of the series’ charm is taking a look at important things in the journalism industry, but also finding ways to laugh about it, even when that is difficult.
Because this is a single-camera comedy that does not require a great deal of post-production time, it is our general feeling that we could be seeing it back as soon as the fall. Yet, a lot will depend on not just when filming starts, but also what Peacock wants on the other side. After all, they are the people who are still going to have the final say on a lot of this.
