Industry season 4 episode 3 spoilers: The path ahead for Henry Muck

Based on the information that is out there already regarding Industry season 4 episode 3, we know we are heading off to Vienna. Not only that, but we’re also aware of the specific purpose for being there: Tender’s attempts to become a full-on bank. (Or, in the mind of Whitney, something even greater than a bank.)

Based on the events of episode 2, it does look as though both Henry Muck and Yasmin are backing this enterprise on some level; not only that, but Muck may be more committed to this than he has been to almost anything in a good while. This is the byproduct of the emotional whirlwind that was episode 2, one where we learned more about his family’s history with suicide and his personal depression after his recent failures.

While this episode of Industry may have felt slightly disconnected from what we saw in episode 2, rest assured that there is still a larger purpose. This is at least based on what Kit Harington himself had to say recently to Mashable:

“That episode, functionally, within Industry, is very important … Because for us to make it through the season and to get on board with Henry, we need to understand him right from the get-go. We need to empathize with him. We need to feel for him, and that has a very important purpose for the season’s start, that we delve right into him in a very intense way so we can understand him.”

Ultimately, it does feel very clear that Muck is a complicated due, someone who has a huge ego but can also crumble to ash. Yet, he can be formidable in certain environments and it is these contradictions that define him. Could he be an ally to Whitney? Absolutely and yet, he could bring about his downfall at the same time. There are so many ways in which things can go.
