Fallout season 2 episode 5 preview: What is Phase 2?

As we look towards Fallout season 2 episode 5 on Prime Video next week, it is clear that the producers are more than fine to keep asking big questions of us.

What is an especially significant one from where we stand? Well, it has a lot to do with what Vaults 32 and 33 were planning for Vault 31. What was Phase 2 of their plan? We recognize that we have only spent a couple of episodes so far in said vaults and the storytelling opportunities have been limited. Yet, at the same time, the writers are clearly setting the stage here to pay off some rather exciting things down the line. We also do think that somehow, we will see a few things connect here further with Lucy and The Ghoul.

Speaking of these two characters, we imagine that their arrival in New Vegas is going to lead to us understanding more now of what the city is truly like now. Walton Goggins’ character has already been surprised on some measure, but just how far are things going to go here? He has a history with Mr. House, whereas Lucy of course has her father. This gives each one of them their own motive they can work in order to achieve.

Meanwhile, Maximus may actually be in one of the most interesting positions of all thanks to what happened with cold fusion. Yet, he is also going to wrestle with the idea that even with his various attempts to do good, there are still some consequences that are hard for him to deal with. This show is a lot about actions and consequences, and he is still having to grapple with this idea that a civil war could be happening around him at almost any moment.
