Bridgerton season 4 spoilers: EP details Sophie Baek story

The first part of Bridgerton season 4 is arriving on Netflix at the end of next month — are you ready for everything that comes with that?
As many of you likely know, one of the things that is so great about the drama is the wide array of romances you get to see every single time. Every main story so far has been different and unique, and you have to hope something similar will be present now with Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek.

Are there going to be familiar elements at the core of the story? It feels that way based on what showrunner Jess Brownell tells Entertainment Weekly. However, before long you will start to see more of how this season stands out from the pack:
“We start with a character trope that we’ve seen a million times before, which is a maid who falls for someone above her station … But I think a lot of times in these classic Cinderella-like stories, Cinderella is a bit of a damsel in distress. And, in the case of Sophie Baek, she is no such thing. We get to watch a very headstrong young woman try to decide her fate for herself and pick up the courage to believe in and dream for a life greater than the one she currently has.”
Ultimately, all of this leads into a different dynamic between her and Benedict than what you would expect. In the event that he was the one pursuing her heavily, it could lead to a lot of discomfort for viewers depending on how it was portrayed. We are looking here for something a little more balanced, where she is able to be proactive and they are able to challenge each other on equal levels.
