All’s Fair star Glenn Close defends Kim Kardashian

We have made it to the halfway point of All’s Fair on Hulu and ultimately, it feels like many people had their minds made up in advance as to whether or not they would enjoy it. While the series may not be winning Emmys anytime soon, there are a number of fun, chaotic moments and even some standouts. Take, for example, the performance of Niecy Nash-Betts as Emerald.
Ultimately, the real lightning rod at the center of everything is Kim Kardashian, who is polarizing for so many reasons that it is hard to get into them all. She is an easy person to go after for a number of different reasons, but one of her co-stars is already coming to her defense.

Speaking to Variety in a new interview about the show, the actress went into her first impressions of her co-star:
“What surprised me was Kim’s seriousness of intent … She always knew her lines. She never was late. She always was prepared. She had no pretensions that she was a great actress, but she was smart enough to have people around her who she could learn from. If she was a big ego or what I call a ‘life-is-too-short person,’ I would have been unhappy, but she’s not.”
Close also defended the series as a whole, noting that the first three episodes were the show’s weakest so moving forward, things are going to get better and better from here. We do hope that is the case, as there are a few different stories that are set up to be gloriously chaotic and interesting. Take, for example, Allura going through her own divorce battle while also being an attorney for women who are splitting up.
