As we look ahead to see IT: Welcome to Derry season 1 episode 5, we recognize that almost everything could be changing. After all, remember for a moment what the military’s main strategy is at the moment: Finding a way to weaponize Pennywise.
In the end, we recognize fully that trying to utilize the killer shape-shifter is a terrible idea, but that may not deter Shaw, someone who seems to be heavily influenced by the era as well as a lot of Cold War paranoia. He also has some more possible information from Dick Hallorann, who learned a lot from Taniel. However, what will he do with it? You can argue that he’ll just spill the beans to simply ensure he can get out of Dodge before the going gets tough.

As the military descends on Neibolt Street, the kids head into the sewers with their own objective.
We are basically at the halfway point of the story now and by virtue of that, of course we think that everything will become more chaotic! The military wants to utilize Pennywise, where at the same time, the kids want to stop it dead in its tracks. Given what just happened with Marge, let alone the deaths that transpired back in the premiere, it does feel clear that nobody is safe. More horrible stuff could happen, and it could happen rather quickly.
Now, is there any way that the show can top some of the horrifying sequences we’ve seen so far, including what happened to Marge? That is one of the real challenges…
