NCIS season 23 episode 5 promo: How the crossover works

As many of you at the moment may know, you are going to be seeing a crossover with NCIS and the prequel series Origins next week. So what is going to be coming up next?

Well, first and foremost, let’s just note here that the case Parker and company are working on here is one that puts an old case front and center. In particular, someone who busted out of prison who was a part of one of Gibbs’ early cases. Can the present-day team put a stop to all of this?

Now, if there is anything we hope to see from this crossover, it is a little bit more insight when it comes to Gibbs’ past and where things are in the present for the rest of the team. This is a situation here where we know that Mark Harmon is going to be appearing in the Origins part of the crossover. With that, we could at least learn where he is at this point and what he is up to.

Do we anticipate some sort of reveal in here that changes the universe as we know it? That is honestly too big of an ask at this point. What we are really hoping for at this point is simply a story that honors both shows and is a great time. We’ve seen a lot of crossovers within this universe already, and the best ones tend to be the episodes that really stretch themselves creatively and try to be different from anything that we’ve seen before.
