Grey’s Anatomy season 22 episode 2 promo: After the death…

As we look towards Grey’s Anatomy season 22 episode 2 on ABC next week, it does feel like, once again, grief will be a major part of the story.

We knew entering the premiere that we would be losing someone from the cast, but to have it be Monica Beltran? It stinks and yet, it makes sense that the writers would kill off an important character and yet, not someone who has been there for an incredibly long period of time. They had raised the possibility of Link dying for so long that it would have been a shock if they actually killed him … though we imagine that he is not out of the woods yet.

Last night, a preview for the next Grey’s Anatomy aired and it was one that clearly indicated that his recovery is going to have a number of bumps in the road — this is not a surprise and yet, it is still going to make for some good material. Meanwhile, Amelia is going to struggle with some of her grief, which is also not a surprise since this character seems to always have some sort of dark cloud hovering over her. Can’t she ever be happy? We’re honestly not sure if anyone on this show has struggled and suffered more than her.

In the end, we are pretty excited to see what the season ends up looking like in the weeks ahead — though we are at least happy to see Meredith sticking around for the relatively near future. There is no guarantee just how long she will be around, since Ellen Pompeo is not going to be in every single installment. We’re just happy to have her while she is around.
