Dexter: Resurrection season 2 premiere date hopes after renewal

Earlier this week, the long-rumored news was made official as a Dexter: Resurrection season 2 is going to be coming to Showtime. Now that we’ve said that, there is another question worth wondering as well — when will the series actually be back on the air?
First and foremost, the good news that we can share is that the writers’ room is already open and by virtue of that, we do like to think that there are some people out there actively working on the scripts for the next chapter of the show. We do think that the network would like to see Michael C. Hall and the rest of the cast back sooner rather than later, at least within reason. They won’t rush it just for the sake of rushing it, but this is a place where we don’t get a lot of crazy two-season hiatuses between seasons.

So what is a realistic expectation for a season 2 premiere date? Well, for the time being let’s just say that we would be shocked if the series is not back by this point next year — this just makes the most sense, all things considered. We hope that filming will kick off in the winter or spring and that the post-production period after the fact is going to be pretty short.
As for what the story of a season 2 is going to be, we tend to think that a lot will ultimately revolve around Dexter Morgan now looking into some of the other killers he has documents on at this point. Just remember what he uncovered following the death of Leon Prater. We imagine there is also a chance the New York Ripper could be featured, but he also made sure that document was left for Claudette Wallace.
