House of the Dragon season 3: Meet Alysanne Blackwood
For those who have not heard already, House of the Dragon season 3 is currently in production. Why not share more good news now?
According to a new report from Deadline, Australian / British performer Annie Shapero is currently slated to appear on the show in the role of Alysanne Blackwood, otherwise known as Black Aly. This is a key character from George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, a fierce warrior who fights alongside Rhaenyra and Team Black, while also having a notable relationship with Cregan Stark. That character had a brief appearance in season 2 but moving forward, we do tend to think that there will be a lot of notable stuff coming there.

Of course, we report a lot of the aforementioned details with the caveat that there is still a chance that we’re going to see some changes, mostly because we saw a lot of those in season 2 — to the point where Martin even expressed some frustration online about it. What we do tend to think is that the third season will be more expansive as more and more characters do get drawn into the Dance of Dragons on various sides. We know already, for example, that more of House Hightower will be seen, and that at some point early on in season 3 we are going to have a chance to see the famed Battle of the Gullet play out. Characters are going to die and beyond that, we also tend to think that we’re going to see a good bit of drama, as well.
There is no specific launch date for season 3 as of yet, but we hope to learn something more in the first half of 2026.
