‘The Walking Dead’ season 4 preview weekend: New details and specifics

The Walking Dead season 3Back during the “Mad Men” season finale earlier this month, we teased that AMC was going to air their “Walking Dead” season 4 preview weekend beginning on July 4 straight to July 7. Now, we have even more details for you about something that should be a major reason for zombie fanatics to celebrate and/or zombie walk to their television sets.

The first thing you should know is pretty simple: The schedule! Independence day is going to mark the airing of the show’s first season, which will include some episodes also being presented in a black-and-white format to go along with their original versions (just for some of you who are old-school like that). Meanwhile, the next day will be the second season, and Saturday and Sunday will mark the full airing of the 16-episode third season.

In the middle of all of this, there will be interviews with the cast and crew, a special look ahead to season 4, and other assorted goodies. The only question we have right now is why in the world Kevin Smith is hosting this rather than Chris Hardwick, given that he is the man responsible for “Talking Dead.” (Maybe Chris was busy with the billions of other jobs that he has? Our only other guess is that it’s a way to try to get more people to actually watch “Comic Book Men,” since “Talking Dead” is doing just fine.)

“The Walking Dead” season 4 will officially kick off in October, and it will begin with a pretty epic and effects-heavy episode directed by newly-appointed executive producer Greg Nicotero. Want to read more about that? Then just head over to the link here to see what he has to say.
