‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: The glamorous side of Katie Cassidy’s Laurel Lance

Who doesn’t love it to see some of their favorite characters grow and evolve? We’ve known for some time that we would be seeing a very different side of Katie Cassidy’s “Arrow” character of Laurel Lance when she shows up for season 2, but we did not necessarily expect it to be this great of a visual shift.

So what’s really so different about this outfit? This photo, which was first posted by The CW on Twitter, shows off what we like to think of as something that is an extremely powerful, different look for a character that did not wear so much in the way of gold in the first season. There’s almost a certain heroic quality about the image, which isn’t so bad for a woman that we all believe is destined to become Black Canary on the show just like she does in the books.

We imagine that Laurel will be in a very interesting place once “Arrow” season 2 picks up on Wednesday, October 9. She is going to be completely in love with Oliver Queen (at least the new version of him), only to possibly discover that he wants to pull away again, realizing that now that Tommy has died he cannot just leave the world of crime-fighting behind. It’s the classic superhero dilemma of trying to keep the ones you love safe, even if you hurt yourself in the process. As for Laurel, get ready to also see her make some interesting decisions with her career, as she does not necessarily do what you would expect of her right now.
