ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 3 spoilers: The great leap forward
If there is one thing that has become a staple of many series over the years it’s the ever-familiar time jump. What better way to re-establish a clean slate than moving forward? For new viewers, the benefit here is obvious: You keep enough of the old, and you add to it some new.
For a show like “Revenge” in particular, you do need to have something fresh for two reasons: The ratings, and the creative team behind the scenes. Mike Kelley is no longer in charge of this show, and you have to give the new powers-that-be at least some sort of opportunity to come in, take a deep breath, and see what they can do with what has been given to them. According to a report from TVLine, the show is going jump forward specifically five months from the events in the finale. This really allows for the opportunity for two separate things to happen:
1. It will allow there to be some sort of distance between Emily Thorne’s confession to Jack about who she really is, and thus, Jack will have a new perspective.
2. Meanwhile, you have to imagine that the hunt for Victoria Grayson’s son would be over. Based on the fact that the character (named Patrick) is being cast, there may not be any reason to have to use your imagination for long.
Hopefully, this new character (and these new storylines) will be effective when it comes to creating that sort of spark that was there back in season 1.

This is so not good. We WANT to see what happens after Emily’s confession, not skip over it! We been waiting for that for 2 seasons and then …
That’s just wrong! This is the BIGGY that’s keeps this show interesting.
Patrick isn’t even an interesting story line because it hasn’t begun yet, so there is no need for flash forward there. It will only make it more confusing if they skip over the build up for that story.
The only thing they need to fix is this horrible Initiative story line, that was just made no sence, wrap it up fast and get Emily back on revenging and we want to see some results from that, not the Grayson’s just tat worried now and then. They need to lose money, social status… everything. victoria being a little less in touch with her kids is just not doing it. Season 2 had absolutely no revenging going on, just bad story lines and stream of uninteresting characters. They need to bring back the fun and awesome friendship between Emily and Nolan, Jack and Nolan and Emily and Jack need to get together after some drama filled story line. Stop having then hooking up with everybody else first, many at the same time, that’s just shabby. Friendship and emotions is what’s missing!

NOOOOOO!!!
We will miss out on everything. The whole point of Emily telling Jack was to see how he reacted, from the start and to see the conversations between the two to bond them together. Not wait 5 months. That’s way to long. We cant see the ongoing relationship between Victoria-Patrick-Grayson’s-Emily and we wont be able to see how Charlotte reacts initially from Declan’s death.
The writers better have heaps of flashbacks showing everyone’s reactions.
