‘Glee’ season 5 notes: Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Dianna Agron, and Darren Criss

When you have a show like “Glee” that preaches such a strong message about equality, it only seems appropriate that this be a time to share some reactions from the people who have stood for this same message on TV and in the public eye, regardless of if they play GLBT characters or not.

What we are referring to here, if you have not heard the news or live in another country, is America’s Supreme Court is handing down some significant changes to the Defense of Marriage Act and also the dismissal of Proposition 8 in California, allowing for so many more same-sex couples in the state to marry. Now, let’s turn to the words that have come pouring in via Twitter.

Lea Michele – “What amazing and beautiful news today! Goodbye #doma goodbye #prop8! #LoveIsLove!!!”

Darren Criss – “Though there is still a bit of a journey ahead of us, a monumental step in the right direction has been taken. Let’s keep walking, friends.”

Jenna Ushkowitz – “What an exciting, historic day. #lovealwayswins #equalityforall”

Dianna Agron – “Watching the love spout about back at home from across the pond. Love is love is love is love. It’s wonderful.”

We’ve already shared a fun message from Naya Rivera about the ruling, mostly because it made Brittana fans go berserk with joy last night.

In other news – Darren Criss recently gave a lengthy interview to the Los Angeles Times, and it included the following about him getting a job as Blaine: “I was a bumbling long-haired, nerdy actor … When I got an audition for ‘Glee,’ I thought, ‘That’s pretty important, I’ll cut my hair.’ ‘Glee’ really was the turning point.”

Meanwhile, Naya Rivera has managed (also per the LA Times) to sell her Beverly Hills mansion for a pretty heft price of just over $1.9 million. Considering that she bought it for $1.475 million and renovated it, is it possible that she could get herself a nice career in real estate to go along with this whole acting thing?
