‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert, Fantasia, Lee DeWyze

American IdolAs we come to an end on this Monday, why not share a few more highlights from the “American Idol” world? There may not be a lot currently transpiring with us being firmly rooted in the off-season, but here are a few highlights to enjoy.

Another Adam Lambert National Anthem performance – Nobody does the National Anthem quite like somebody from this show. Any of the three artists mentioned in the title can nail it. On this occasion, though, Adam had the opportunity to completely tear the roof off of the Broadway Bares event over the weekend, which features stage performers in various stages of undress. As you would figure (since this isn’t just stripping down the heck of it), the event is meant to raise money for AIDS research and awareness.

Fantasia’s new role – Could Fantasia Barrino be gearing up for a turn on Broadway? According to the New York Times (via Mjsbigblog), the season 3 singer is in talks to star in “After Midnight,” a musical about the famed Cotton Club in Harlem. These talks are not confirmation by any means, so you still have to prepare yourself for the possibility that something could change in the months ahead. This show could feasibly start performances in the fall if everything falls into place.

An update from Lee DeWyze – Since we haven’t written anything about Lee in a while, we thought it best to share an update for what he has coming up. There is a lyric video coming up for his new song “Silver Lining,” which is definitely deserving of a little bit of radio love this summer. He also presented another update via his Twitter account today:

“Hey guys! Been a little quiet on here lately, been making some final decisions for the artwork etc. Very exciting watching it all…Come together. Can not WAIT to release this music. I appreciate all your support, and patience :) y’all are the best. But, I’m back!”
