Demi Lovato’s ‘X Factor’ colleagues, Simon Cowell, offer support after father Patrick’s death

As we reported yesterday, a massive tragedy occurred in the life of singer / “X Factor” judge Demi Lovato in the death of her father, who reportedly had a lengthy battle with cancer. Even though the two parties had a strained relationship, even to the point where she wrote about it in song, it was nonetheless a devastating loss that led to much of Twitter, including fans of other artists who traditionally fight with each other on the social-networking site, rallying together in a show of unity.

In addition to some of these millions of people, many of Demi’s colleagues on “The X Factor” USA have also reached out online (and presumably privately) to offer up some words of support.

Fellow judge Paulina Rubio – “I lov u lil sis my prayers r w u guys! Te amo @ddlovato sorry for ur loss, i know what it feels Nothing we can say it’s enough…”

Fellow judge / creator Simon Cowell – “My thoughts are with you Demi. X”

We hope that Cowell’s message in particular is yet another sign that although he plays this brash and aggrandized version of himself on TV for entertainment purposes, in reality the man is well-known for being very kind and supportive of many of the people he works with, Demi being one of them.

It is unclear as of this time if this news will impact the rest of “X Factor” production this summer. We once again want to emphasize that thoughts are with Demi during this time, and we’ll have more on this story when it becomes available.
