ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: Stana Katic looks at advantages of DC storyline
Is it really possible that Beckett could end up moving to Washington DC for a time on “Castle” season 6? One of the reasons that we’re starting to think so is merely because it seems that so many others are dismissing this as a choice right now. It feels almost like the easy thing to do is to just assume that thanks to Rick’s proposal during the season 5 finale, she will accept it and stay in New York City, where she would be close to her fiance.
But who’s to say that she will say “yes” to Castle in that instance, or stay in the Big Apple when there is such a big career opportunity for her? This is why Stana Katic tells Entertainment Weekly that there are quite a few benefits right now to her character going out and potentially finding new things out about herself somewhere new:
“I think it could be a good change of scenery for the audience. And there are ways of bringing it back together. The show has to evolve. The characters have to evolve … There’s ways of drawing these characters together and also giving each character a featured episode. That would be interesting to me. I love learning more about Detective Ryan and Lainie. I think it is interesting to feature them and their lives sometimes. So, you know, it doesn’t have to be the Scooby-Doo gang every episode solving a murder. It is important for a show to grow and blossom.”
Even though Katic knows already whether or not Beckett says “yes” to the proposal, don’t take this as anything other than just pure speculation at this point. We are going to find out some of these answers in the premiere, and this in turn will serve to inform some of the early episodes of the season.
Do you think it could be helpful for Beckett to spend some time away? We want to hear your thoughts below! Also, be sure to click here if you want to check out what Nathan Fillion has to say on the future of this relationship.

I agree I don’t even know how AM would accomplish that because the team without Castle and Beckett is just empty, it loses something in the process and what lame reason will there be for Castle working with her It just does not fit it changes the whole show from what it has been If something works don’t fix it. I could see her working as a (the lead person in New York) for federal cases or possibly something to do with Castle’s father (but he is CIA) I would love to see more of James Brolin

I think they keep playing up the possibility that she could take the job in D.C. to maintain the mystery, suspense and anticipation for the season 6 premiere episode. Because from their dialogue in the Finale it’s seems too obvious that Beckett was really looking for “more” in the relationship more than the job. She got “more” and then some – a life time commitment. I still say she says “yes” but not yet. I don’t think she’ll try the D.C. job and change her mind and return to the 12th. If that does happen, for me, it won’t be believable. But, although I love the show, going back through the past few seasons, I still find many scenes that are not very believable.

She jas to come nack to her family, ultimately. Twice during the series (at least) Ryan has remarked that when mom and dad argue, it’s never good for the kids. What makes this show work: the chemistry among the members of the cast and the humor. I sincerely hope they don’t go the way Bones went. It’s too often somber, humorless. It’s not the leads getting together that kills the dynamic. Witness The Thin Man series. A helluva model!
