‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: Chris Colfer talks production; plus, Naya Rivera news!

Chris ColferFor those of you wondering just when the cast of “Glee” is going to dive into new episodes, you now have an official answer: Near the end of July. This was revealed in an interview Chris Colfer gave today on ITV’s “This Morning,” where he is promoting both his book The Land of Stories along with his film “Struck By Lightning.” Colfer was recently in France doing promotion, and this is an opportunity to have him celebrate his summer vacation while getting some work in too.

There is one thing that we find particularly surprising about the start of production for this season and that it how late they are starting up given that “Glee” will probably begin airing earlier than most other fall shows thanks to its pairing with “The X Factor.” Plus, producers want to get a big chunk of season 5 out to the public in the fall, that way there can be an extended hiatus, and the series will be able to start dishing out installments again beginning in the spring. The current plan is for season 5 to actually run until June, a little bit later than the traditional TV season ends.

In the video below, Colfer also talks about being a role model and having women and men interested in him almost constantly. Also, we have a bonus video of Naya Rivera speaking alongside her boyfriend Big Sean at the MMVAs last night. These two do make a nice couple, but this chat with Fuse is more awkward than anything else. It’s not easy to do these red-carpet interviews, and it mostly leads to the same questions being asked over and over again.
