‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 debate: Who is poised to shine the brightest?

Game of ThronesWhen you have a cast like “Game of Thrones” that is literally over 20 people strong, one of the real luxuries is that every time there is a possibility for someone new to step up and become the breakout star. When looking back at season 1, this has to be Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys for us along with Peter Dinklage’s Tyrion. Meanwhile, season 2, just from the standpoint of pure entertainment, was almost all about Alfie Allen as Theon Greyjoy, and the shining star of season 3 was Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (even if he was not in every episode).

So who could reach this same sort of popularity and acclaim in season 4? Given that the series can take whatever they want from the books, there’s some ambiguity to it; however, the following people are all capable of having huge seasons. (Don’t worry, there are no enormous spoilers from here on out.)

Charles Dance – We like to imagine that season 4 could be the year of the Lannister at least early on, and the more that we see of Tywin, the stronger and more interesting the character becomes.

Maisie Williams – If you’ve enjoyed seeing the adventures of Arya Stark so far, believe us in that you haven’t seen anything yet. She has quite an interesting journey ahead, and it has been several years in the making.

Pretty much any Tyrell – In between Margaery’s shrewd behavior, Olenna becoming the female Varys, and the Blackfish is still alive out there, this family is really in for quite an interesting year.
