‘The Originals’ season 1: Daniel Gillies looks imposing in behind-the-scenes photo

If you may remember, the cast of “The Originals” recently took part in a photo shoot to start getting some of the promotional material out of the way for the new season.

What we really appreciate about this photo is basically the same thing that we have loved from all of the others: Seeing the bizarre sort of meta-quality that comes from someone taking a picture of someone having their picture taken. In this case, at least Daniel Gillies (who plays Elijah) is looking towards this camera with an imposing look on his face.

This image was first shared by the show’s official Twitter account, and they seem to be pretty hyped on getting the word out for a series that the network has high hopes for. “The Originals” will have challenges straight from the beginning, as it is going to be up against another popular show on Tuesday night in “The Voice,” and “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” has the potential to be the next big TV show. Also, Gillies, Joseph Morgan, and the rest of the cast still have to prove that they are capable leading men, and not just some guys who do an excellent job being supporting characters on “The Vampire Diaries.”
