‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: Kevin McHale open for more … but for how long?

Kevin McHaleOne of the interesting debates that has come out of Fox’s decision to renew “Glee” for two additional seasons is rather simple: Does this mean that the network is planning to end the show? Unless there are some extensions that kick in from their original contracts, many of the actors’ deals for the show will be up; not only that, but the ratings have been slowly on the decline.

Well, one of the actors is really making it rather clear now that so long as the musical series lasts, he’s happy to stick around. That actor is Kevin McHale, who told Digital Spy in a new interview that he will play the Artie Abrams character for as long as the producers want him around.

For McHale, the good news is that there seems to be some sort of plan in place for him to have a big role throughout the next two seasons. The character is interested in going to school in New York, which also happens to be the place that Rachel (Lea Michele), Kurt (Chris Colfer), and Santana (Naya Rivera) currently reside. If graduating happens at the midway point in the season, there will surely be some collateral damage when it comes to some characters being left behind; but if Artie stays, this is yet another name to add to the impressive pile of people who we could be seeing way more of in the future.

What’s your take on all this: Does “Glee” still have a lifespan to it, or do you think that the end could be very much near at this point? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below!
