NBC’s ‘Hannibal’ spoilers: Hugh Dancy on possible season 2 plots

Hugh DancyAs you know, “Hannibal” was recently renewed for a second season by NBC, so why not start speculating about it now? Yes, we are well-aware that there are still a couple of episodes left in this current season, but we do like to believe that it is never too early especially when you have a series here that is based already on popular books, and there are a few things in particular that viewers are hoping to see in the future.

In going along these lines, TVLine asked star Hugh Dancy in an interview this week if we were going to start seeing the relationship that Will and Hannibal have formed fall apart. His response? It sure seems like it’s coming soon, if not during this season:

“It’s safe to say, we’re getting into that territory… Will is meant to be the most intelligent guy on the Earth and the best at his job. But he’s suffering. He hasn’t got all the cards in his hand. Whether that happens this season or next season, I don’t want to be too specific. But we’ll get there.”

From a personal standpoint, we’re more than fine with waiting until the new season starts to see the breakdown of the bond that currently exists, mostly because good television is at times the tease. Take the Red Wedding on “Game of Thrones” as an example: Would you have wandered around your house screaming if producers had gotten to it early, or allowed it to build up slowly over the course of many weeks? The longer the wait (within reason, of course), the greater the payoff.
