‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ gets cinematic while promoting season 9 (video)
While there is no definite premiere date set in stone just yet for the upcoming ninth season of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” we do know that the show will be back in September. Not only that, but it will have a new home in FXX, otherwise known as the younger brother to everything that FX provides on a regular basis.
So is there quite a bit to look forward to here? Definitely, at least based on the bizarre but also funny new clips released from the show. The one below comes to us courtesy of Variety, and it basically spoofs one of those artsy-hipster foreign language films that the guys at Paddy’s would burn in a barrel in an alley behind the bar. It’s really very weird, but it does serve as a nice opportunity for the show to call back to some of the best moments of the series’ run thus far.
This series, even before the move, was the longest-running comedy in the history of its network, and there is no evidence right now of it slowing down. We expect the ratings to drop somewhat considering that FXX is not an established network at all like its counterpart, but we hope that people do manage to find the show and continue to check it out for at least a couple more years.
As always, we’ll have more on the season as we near the premiere, and we’ll also have our kitten mittens ready. What’s your take on the clip, and do you think this is really the best way to promote the new season?
