‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 finale spoilers: Tywin Lannister clearly has anger issues

The challenge for “Game of Thrones” season 3 is an interesting one moving into the finale airing on Sunday night: How do you continue to keep a show like this interesting after a stunner like the Red Wedding? It seems almost as though there is no way whatsoever that you are going to replicate a moment on the same level, so in some ways, it seems perhaps prudent to go with the opposite, and focus more on small, powerful emotional moments for their characters.

While we don’t know if this is the direction the show really wants to see itself going in, the photo attached here does seem to guarantee that Tywin Lannister is in the midst of having himself a pretty emotional moment here. As a matter of fact, it looks like his entire face is about to explode just like the internet did during the Red Wedding.

We already know based on the previews for the hour (which carries with it the title of “Mhysa”) that Tywin is going to be forced to deal with a grandson in Joffrey who is even more rebellious as king than usual, and is not going to take too well to realizing that he is not the one necessarily pulling the strings in King’s Landing. Meanwhile, there is also the issue of what comes next between Joffrey and Margaery, and he has a son in Tyrion who does not appear to be altogether intent on following through on his plans to bed Sansa Stark before she is ready to be with him.

Overall, it looks like we are in for quite a busy episode for the Lannister family, especially since they have to pick up for lost time following their absence in “The Rains of Castamere” (which is rather ironic, given that song was originally written about the Lannister’s triumphs).
