Yesterday, we shared some details on “Turn of the Shoe,” the second new episode of “Pretty Little Liars” season 4 airing a week after its June 11 premiere. So what’s next? Going to the episode beyond this in “Cat’s Cradle,” which will air on June 25. This should be around when the action for the show really starts to pick up, given that we no longer have to deal with some exposition or fans having to reacquaint themselves to the world of Rosewood.
This episode also features the return of Torrey DeVitto as Melissa Hastings, and we can be sure based on what we saw at the end of last season that she’s up to something shady. What does she really want? We still have no idea, given that the synopsis below does not give anything away:
“Hanna worries that her mother is keeping a dangerous secret and is determined to protect her at all costs, which leads her to an uncomfortable meeting with Detective Holbrook. A clue in Ali’s things leads the Liars to a creepy mask maker, who takes a shine to Emily and may have ties to another Rosewood resident. Spencer and Toby continue their search into a painful chapter of Toby’s past and Melissa returns to Rosewood.
“Meanwhile, ‘A’ targets Emily’s mom, leading Aria to make a desperate plea of Ella.”
We can’t really say that anything in this synopsis altogether surprises us at the moment. We already know that these characters have secrets, parents are complicated, and that there are always some creepy mask or costume-makers around. What we really want to know at this point (almost to an obsessive level) is this: Who is Red Coat, and what do they hope to achieve?
