‘The Bachelorette’ notes: Desiree Hartsock, Emily Maynard, and Sean Lowe

It’s a little weird to see all three of the “Bachelor” / “Bachelorette” stars’ names mentioned together in the same title,  mostly because it’s almost like one of those bizarre kissing trails that goes from one person to the next.  But what is interesting is that all three have something to say right now when it comes to the current season led by Desiree Hartsock, even though they are all on entirely different subjects. When it comes to Emily (who famously rejected Sean), for example, it was a Twitter post all about Desiree getting to rap alongside Soulja Boy during one of her group dates:

“Desiree got Soulja Boy and I got the Muppets … It’s official. She is way cooler than me. #Bachelorette.”

We’re just going to hope that there was some sarcasm here, mostly because we cannot imagine any world in which a rapper famous for singing about Superman while shouting “yooooooooooou” at the top of his lungs is actually cooler than one of the greatest bands of puppets of all time. As a matter of fact, we’d rather hang out with the Muppets than just about any living celebrity out there (except maybe for Nathan Fillion, we fly our geek flag with pride).

As for Sean (who rejected Desiree), he recently gave HollywoodLife some sage advice as to how she should try to deal with life after filming her time on the show:

“My advice to her post show is to just take it all in stride and don’t let it go to your head because you’re going to get attacked by everybody … Have a thick skin. Just be true to who you are and you’ll be fine. She’s a great girl anyway, so I’m sure she will be.”

Granted, having a “thick skin” really is one of those things that is much easier said than done. When you are going through an experience that is this emotional, it’s easy to let just about anything get to you, and we are going to see plenty of that in the weeks ahead.
