‘The Bachelorette’: Desiree Hartsock talks Ben Scott rose, sympathy for Sean Lowe

DesireeAfter you go through an experience like “The Bachelor” as a contestant and “The Bachelorette” as a star, odds are that you start to develop a brand-new sort of perspective on the whole experience. Take, for example, what is going on with Desiree Hartsock. Time and time again when she was a contestant on Sean Lowe’s season of “The Bachelor,” she found herself quickly succumbing to her own insecurities whenever someone got a rose on a group date rather than her.

Now, she’s the one causing the problems for the contestants on “The Bachelorette.” So what does she have to say about it now? Writing in her brand-new People Magazine blog, Desiree does her absolute best to explain what the feeling (and reaction) was to her giving Ben Scott a rose:

“It was really tough for me to decide who to give the rose to. I had a great conversation with Ben where we shared stories about our childhood and our interests so I felt I had more invested in him. But I didn’t realize how giving it to him would affect the others. I feel for Sean Lowe a lot more now knowing how difficult it is to hand out roses on group dates.”

What is actually really strange about this message to us is not why she gave Ben the rose (since she doesn’t know what all of the men are saying about him at the moment), but rather why in the world she would refer to Sean, who she was almost going to get a proposal from earlier this season, as someone she barely knows.

Do you think that this is a decision that Desiree is going to want to forget? If you want to also check out our full review of Monday’s “Bachelorette” episode, you can do so over here.
