‘The Newsroom’ season 2 trailer: Will McAvoy lost in a desert
At this very moment, we understand that so many of you are taking quite a bit of time talking about what is the real main event of Sunday night’s lineup on HBO: The devastating episode of “Game of Thrones.” It is one that will surely break your heart in many ways, but it’s also not one that we’re going to talk about here, given that there are surely some out there who do not want to be spoiled about anything.
Instead, what we want to share in this article is the brand-new preview the network has released for their new season of “The Newsroom,” which is coming on the network July 14. This trailer features something completely different: Will McAvoy sitting at his desk in a desert, looking on at his past with Mackenzie, and also wondering where most of the other relationships and work dynamics stand within the Atlantis Cable News family. Every character is included, and the clip ends with a sweeping shot of the full gang.
At the end of the day, we like this trailer from an artistic point of view, and it does give non-fans a great opportunity to see visually where some of the relationships of the show lied during the first season. At the same time, we have to still say as a die-hard “Newsroom” fan that there are probably some things that we would have much rather seen here … including some actual footage rather than something that gives us no hint at all at the story ahead.
