NBC’s ‘The Voice’: Why Michelle Chamuel, Danielle Bradbery may have more work

The VoiceNBC never ceases to surprise when it comes to their frequent attempts to try and milk the massive cash cow known as “The Voice.” They know that this show equals some serious dollar signs, and with that in mind, they probably figure it would be silly not to try and milk it for everything that it is worth.

With that in mind, we now have the following news breaking today. Apparently, the shows scheduled on June 10 and 17 were originally supposed to only be only an hour long, likely for the sake of not making things too gratuitous as we near the end of the show. However, NBC has apparently since flip-flopped on this pressing issue, and decided that the more gratuitous they make the show, the better off their pocketbooks are going to be in the end. Therefore, we’re back to sitting pretty at that two-hour format.

So what does this mean for the singers? Well, the final four (which will almost surely include Michelle Chamuel, Danielle Bradbery, and the Swon Brothers) will have to put forth even more effort to learn and prepare songs, and also do some group performances with the likes of their fellow contestants or their coaches. We don’t know how much will get accomplished with the extra hour attached, but with the ratings for most other summer shows already starting to tank (just look at “The Bachelorette” from this past week), they must believe it to be better to just go ahead and try to get everything out of this show that they can.

The next performance show on “The Voice” is going to air Monday night, and that will feature the top 6 facing off in a vocal battle of the ages.
