‘Homeland’ season 3 spoilers: Tracy Letts quickly upped to series regular
“Homeland” is obviously liking what they are seeing already in the development of one of their new characters. Even though production is really only starting now in North Carolina, Deadline reports that Tracy Letts, one of the touted new additions to the cast, has already been promoted to series regular.
As for who Letts is playing, his character is Senator Andrew Lockhart, a very powerful man that could mean trouble for Claire Danes’ Carrie and everyone else associated with the Nicholas Brody fiasco. As a Committee Chairman, the Lockhart character is going to be asking tough questions about all of the steps that were taken in trying to figure Brody out, and boy, are there a mountain of questions to ask. There are issues related to how he managed to stay alive, stay out of prison, and all sorts of other issues given that there was already information out there about his relationship with Abu Nazir in the intelligence community. Basically, this is the old dilemma of wanting to second-guess anything and everything now that you are in a position to actually do so.
Letts is one of several new actors joining the show this season, and there have also been some changes to the existing cast. Diego Klattenhoff (Mike) has been downgraded, as has David Marciano (Virgil).
Does this character sound interesting to you, and do you think it is at all possible that he could be someone to really stop Carrie and the CIA in their tracks?
