‘Dexter’ season 8 spoilers: Michael C. Hall talks Deb’s transformation in premiere

Dexter and Debra MorganWhile the following bit of news may not come as too great of a shock given the “Dexter” season 8 footage that is already out there, we never exactly had much in the way of confirmation on it until now. (Warning: There’s a pretty significant spoiler ahead, so turn away now if you want to go into the June 30 premiere with a fresh set of eyes.)

Speaking out in a brand-new interview with TV Guide, Michael C. Hall explains that when we do see the show pick up, Jennifer Carpenter’s Deb is going to be in a very interesting place in the wake of LaGuerta’s death. Specifically, she’s not going to be in a place that involves having a badge with Miami Metro anymore:

“Things are strange. Deb left the police department, and she’s not in a good place. Dexter feels a sense of responsibility for what happened and wants to make things right, but they’re not exactly connecting.”

We also have a feeling that Dexter’s attempts to make things right with Deb are going to produce anger more than anything else. Even when he does try to register sympathy, he is incapable of finding the right emotion to go along with it, and this is completely obvious to someone like Deb, who has constantly been a very empathetic person.

The thing that we are admittedly the most curious about right now is if anyone is going to be suspicious of Deb in the context of what happened to LaGuerta, given that she has quit her job after her death, and was also missing and unaccounted for at the time in which it happened.

Do you think that Deb will get her job on the force back at some point this season? If you want to read more news related to who we’d like to see return to the show this year, all you have to do is visit the link here.
