NBC’s ‘Revolution’ season 1, episode 19 preview: First look at ‘Children of Men’
Before we say anything else about Monday night’s new “Revolution” episode, let us start things off here with a compliment: “Children of Men” is one heck of a great title. It’s long been an underrated movie, so we have to sit here and give the show a round of applause for referencing Alfonso Cuaron around these parts.
Now, we turn to the actual episode itself, and there is really just one thing we find ourselves asking: Are we actually going to see the characters turn the power back on? It’s been the struggle for the show since the very beginning, but they are now in a place where they could actually make it happen, given that they do put all of the pieces to the puzzle together, and are not stopped by the sort of ominous figure that is hinted at in the video below.
Before we go any further, let’s turn to the official synopsis courtesy of NBC for a few more details:
“Rachel (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Monroe (David Lyons) battle with more than wits. Meanwhile, Miles (Billy Burke), Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos), Nora (Daniella Alonso) and Aaron (Zak Orth) get inside the Tower but Tom Neville (Giancarlo Esposito) and son Jason (JD Pardo) get shut out. Miles and Monroe once again face-off, this time even more lethally”
Can the show rise to a new level now? We hope so, since we’re talking about this from two separate angles. For one, we’d love to see the characters finally step into their own after week upon week of bit and pieces, and we’d also like to see the ratings rise for the first time in forever now that there is no real competition left on other networks during this time slot.
