‘Doctor Who’ season 8: One star ‘speculates’ on John Hurt’s The Doctor (video)

John HurtYou have to give it to the folks over at the BBC: Even though it has been a full week since the “Doctor Who” finale “The Name of the Doctor” first aired, the network is still churning out some new content pertaining to both the stunner at the end of this episode and the road ahead.

This brings us to the latest chapter of “Strax’s Field Report,” which focuses almost entirely on the discovery that there is a new face that was hidden deep within The Doctor’s subconscious, his darkest secret that he did not want to get out. This is a man who is not The Doctor in the way in which we imagine the character to be, and while we could sit here and speculate all day is to whether or not this is Doctor Wh0 or someone wedged within the traditional timeline, all we can conclude right now is that the character will be played (as pictured) by veteran actor John Hurt.

We will have more information for Strax to analyze during the 50th anniversary special airing on November 23, mostly because we have a very hard time imagining that we are going to be seeing executive producer Steven Moffat or anyone else keep a secret until then. Much like Hurt’s character himself, this could become the cast and crew’s next biggest secret they to try to hide.

So for now, just be sure to enjoy the video, and to also be thankful of the fact that the BBC is nice enough to give us something to enjoy for the time being while we start to endure a very long and tiresome wait.
