‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 6 spoilers: Another veteran of ‘The Shield’ stops by

Sons of AnarchyJust how fondly does Kurt Sutter look back at his time on “The Shield”? You can see it in so much of his casting for “Sons of Anarchy” over the years. Walton Goggins, Jay Karnes, David Aceveda, and Kenneth Johnson are just some of the veterans from this FX smash hit to step into the world of Charming, and now a new one is joining the fold in CCH Pounder.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the actress comes on board the show as a San Joaquin County District Attorney who ends up crossing paths with some of the members of SAMCRO, which certainly cannot mean good things for Charlie Hunnam and company. Jax, Tig, Juice, and the rest of the gang have not exactly kept themselves clean as of late, and have gone through everything from tragic deaths (we still miss you, Opie) to arrests (Tara) as a result.

Pounder’s character will recur throughout at least part of season 6, and she is the second major addition following the arrival of “Deadwood’s’ Kim Dickens playing a powerful and seductive madame. There are surely more to come, and we will find out more about them as production goes on. (Filming is already underway in Los Angeles.)

As for an official premiere date, there’s still no word, but we can pretty much tell you now that pending some moment of temporary insanity from FX, the show will start back up in mid-September as it always does.

Do you like this casting, and what do you hope Pounder brings to the “Sons of Anarchy” world? If you want to also check out what Sutter said recently about the level of violence on the show, be sure to visit the link here.
