‘Glee’ season 5: Lea Michele joins Chris Colfer, Jenna Ushkowitz as author

Lea MicheleLea Michele is turning out to have quite a busy summer ahead of her. She recently wrapped filming for “Glee’s” fourth season, and also is in the process of recording her debut album with some big-name record producers. So what’s the icing on the cake? How about writing a book!

In an effort to tell her story at a time in which young people will buy it up, Lea Michele announced Thursday that her first book, entitled “Brunette Ambition,” is set to debut in stores this coming spring. This work will encompass a number of different things, from personal stories about her life to sharing information about the industry to also serving as a personal style guide. Basically, this is as many different tasks as Rachel Berry tried to take on in a given school year.

In a statement, here’s what Lea had to say about getting this book out there:

“There wasn’t a guidebook when I was growing up, that detailed everything I needed to do, and know, to get to where I am today… [This is] not a how-to-make-it-in-show-business book, but a guide to harnessing tenacity, passion, enthusiasm, and hard work to make your dreams come true.”

Given that Lea has spent the vast majority of her life appearing either on television or on stage, there is probably not a better person out there right now to tell this story. She becomes the fourth “Glee” star with a published book out there, as Chris Colfer, Jenna Ushkowitz, and Jane Lynch have all published volumes of their own since the Fox show began back in 2009. (Season 5 premieres this fall.)
