‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 15 spoilers: Mariska Hargitay addresses future
Just in case you were really worried that Benson getting a gun held to her face meant the end of her character, there’s no real reason to worry. “Law & Order: SVU” will start up its astounding 15th season in the fall, and while Mariska Hargitay has not signed a new contract yet to return, it appears at the moment as though she is viewing this as a mere formality.
In a post on Twitter following the finale on the West Coast, and probably following her receiving hundreds of tweets begging her to stick around, Hargitay did her best to ease the minds of concerned fans by posting the following message:
“Where’s the faith people??? Season 15 here we come!”
There have been near-constant questions about Hargitay’s future on the show for years, beginning when Christopher Meloni left, and continuing on with various rumors that she wants to spend more time with her new family. The show seems to have a pretty good arrangement worked out with her now, though, where her schedule is managed in a way that the hours working on set are not completely insane, and she still has an opportunity to tackle some meaty story-lines.
As for whether or not season 15 will be the end for the series, that’s a good question to ask given that the ratings for the show have fallen over the years, and it lagged behind “Chicago Fire” for much of the spring. We’d love to make sure that this show goes out in a way that the original “Law & Order” did not, and that is an ending that really ties together the story properly.

I don’t want anyone to “save” Benson! She doesn’t need saving; she’s going to save her own self. She knows the tricks around that, and she’s going to come out of that scene safe and alive, albeit somewhat traumatized, since this would be scary for anyone. But please, people! Stop thinking she needs to be saved!

Maybe Cassidy will stop by unexpectedly to see her and save the day :)

She’s coming back but let’s just say that its obvious that season 15 is gonna be rough for Benson. I think that she will be sexually assaulted and it will not be a close call like the prison episode. she will probably escape and arrest or kill him.
