ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6: Molly Quinn chimes in on possible Castle – Beckett engagement

Molly QuinnShould Beckett say yes to Rick’s proposal on “Castle”? We wrote up a full debate on the subject earlier this week, with some of the factors being her potential move, his ability to open up, and possibly even if the engagement happened at the right time. There is something intimidating / terrible that can come out of a question being popped in a dark moment, and the drama was trending up at the time in which Nathan Fillion’s character decided to ask the question.

Luckily, there is at least one major fan of a possible Caskett engagement on the show’s set, and she is someone who definitely matters: Molly Quinn. Speaking to TVLine, the woman behind Alexis Castle gave her thoughts on why her character would want to see the engagement happen, and what her relationship with Beckett would be as a result:

“Castle is the best man out there and absolutely loves her and is devoted to her. I don’t think that Alexis will ever see her as a stepmom because a stepmother has authority. There’s no way that Alexis would be OK with that. She’s used to running the house. And not even her dad has that much authority. So she would see Beckett as an equal and she would totally appreciate [her]. But I don’t even think Beckett would ever try to [parent]. Alexis is an adult now. She’s 20. If this had happened when Alexis was 16, that would have been a totally different story. I’m very glad that it didn’t happen because that would have been a lot of rebellion and a lot of trouble.”

We are looking forward to seeing a little bit more of Alexis next season after her trip overseas, mostly because she was pretty quiet for much of the spring following the kidnapping. An engagement would change things up in the Castle household greatly, and hopefully address some issues that have just been left to simmer for quite some time.

Even if Beckett rejects this proposal, do you think an engagement will happen at some point next season? If you want to check out that aforementioned debate, you can do so over here.
