The great news about “The Walking Dead” from a viewer perspective is that every season, you have an opportunity to see something that is incredible awesome and / or explosive. Of course, the challenge from a writing and producing perspective is that you have to be aware that this is what fans of the show are looking for, and you have to find a way week after week to up your game and deliver something different. How many ways are there to kill a zombie? You have to imagine that this writers’ room discussion is probably some sort of walker bloodbath.
The good news when it comes to season 4 is that based on what we’re hearing now, it certainly sounds like producers already have some pretty fantastic ideas. Speaking to Dread Central in an interview, props master John Sanders did a pretty incredible job in making us excited, while at the same time not really disclosing anything that would give away a major spoiler:
“My favorite implement will be this season. I’ve been waiting for two years, trying to talk to Greg Nicotero about doing this to a walker, and he saw it this year and just jumped on it. I can’t really tell you what it is, but I can tell you it’s going to be the craziest thing on the show yet. What I can say is that walkers are going to get killed in newer ways this year than any other year before.”
So who will be the killing? There are questions surrounding whether or not we will see a more ruthless Carl, or what sort of action some of the new characters are going to be involved with.
Regardless of who ends up being the walker killer, how excited are you to see what happens next? If you want to read a little bit more news about the season premiere being filmed, all you have to do is click here.
