‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 6 spoilers: Kurt Sutter teases potential companion piece

Sons of AnarchyWhen you see a title like the one above, it is not particularly easy to try to match something like that in terms of intensity, that is unless there is a bevy of information out there to live up to the hype. Unfortunately, this is all we know right now: There is a potential “Sons of Anarchy” companion piece being worked on, and there will be more information about it very soon.

This news was first unveiled via showrunner Kurt Sutter’s latest “WTFSutter” video, where he spends the vast majority of his time talking about the first week of the show’s production on set. (The talk about the companion series occurs at the very end, almost as a reward for those who listened to the entire video.) Without giving away plot spoilers, he discussed the progress that director Paris Barclay is making with the premiere, and also bemoaned the presence of external cameras trying to capture images (which is something that they do not often have to deal with as a result of the show filming somewhat off the beaten path).

On the standpoint of guest stars, Sutter talks for a few minutes about the decision to cast “Deadwood” alum Kim Dickens in one of the show’s major new roles, and how he has somehow managed to have a good chunk of the HBO series’ cast on board at some point. There are more guest stars left to announce, and hopefully that will happen in the weeks ahead.

What do you think this companion series could be? We want to hear your theories below! If you want to subscribe to Sutter’s video channel (as he typically has one of these every Friday or Saturday), you can do so over here. There is of course strong language below, but if you like “Sons of Anarchy,” aren’t you already prepared for that?
