‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’: Watch the first full trailer for ABC’s new show!

It’s not often that you have a new series teased in May, but maybe this in a way goes to show the enormous impact that ABC is expecting from Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ This is a show that does, after all, stem from “The Avengers” motion-picture franchise and the superhero universe, and when you consider just how many people watch these movies, there has to be an audience for the show … right?

We’re all about honesty, and there is one part of this teaser that we hated: That a good part of it was spent showing you people who are not going to be a major part of the series. It explained the premise well, but how much did we need to see of Thor or Hulk to get the picture? It’s a show about the people of S.H.I.E.L.D., and we would have rather seen more of the personalities. This is a show created by the Whedon brothers, and they excel at giving unique stories with memorable characters.

With this complaint aside, this teaser alone is great in keeping the show firmly planted on the minds of many in the months to come. We can’t imagine that anyone will be forgetting about it, and nor will they want to. It’s that solid! There is plenty of action, and the premise comes across about as well as it can in thirty seconds.

There is, sadly, no word yet on when the show will actually air. Our suggestion would be Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. There’s nothing in this spot, “NCIS” is fading, and “The Voice” comes on at 9 this fall. This would allow the show to compete against some comedies on Fox, “The Biggest Loser,” whatever The CW wants to do, and “NCIS.” Not bad; not bad at all.
