‘Survivor: Blood vs. Water’ announced as season 27 during ‘Caramoan’ reunion show
During the “Survivor Caramoan: Fans vs. Favorites” reunion show, there was quite a bit of content to smile over. We had a unanimous winner in John Cochran, the news that Brenda Lowe was actually nine months pregnant and cannot be in attendance, and saw cameo appearances from Boston Rob, Richard Hatch, and many more. (On a personal note, it’s nice to see the franchise actually admit at this point that Richard exists.) Malcolm also won Player of the Season in a very tight vote over Brenda, who seemed to get a huge surge thanks in part to sympathy from what happened to her.
Now, we end up coming to the next, super-important question: What in the world happens from here? You’ve likely been hearing for several months now that the theme for season 27 is going to be “Favorites vs. Family,” and this is a theme that has drawn a pretty insane reaction all across the Twitterverse. This could end up being terrible if the cast is wrong, and it could up being awesome. It’s all about the cast, just like it is for any season that features returning players. In this case, it also includes the family that will be jumping on board.
While we don’t know for sure that this is the theme for the season, the name of “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” seems to be somewhat of a suggestion that this is the direction they are going in. You can take what we said above as speculation, or believe it as fact. That is up to you, but it’s a clever move for the producers to not want to give hardly anything away right now.
Sadly, you’re also going to be waiting for a while to figure out just who some of these returning players really are. The season hasn’t even started to film just yet! There are names floating around out there, but it seems rather silly for us to sit here and speculate on rumors and a cast list that could change minutes before CBS sends people off to an island (filming starts soon). Plus, we don’t wanna blow up somebody’s spot by saying that they are on the season, and then another player catches wind of it and uses this to pre-game. Total party foul, just like not giving your pre-jury boots (even Corinne!) no screen time so you can let Rudy say questionable things and see Jeff Probst talk to a little girl.
Do you like the idea of this season, find it annoying, or are you still too hyped-up over the last season to really be able to figure it out yet? Our full look at the finale is at this link, and we will be back with some interviews and so much more related to the show in the morning.
Also, be sure to check out who we want to see play again.

I’m personally hoping that this means Blood (relatives of past survivors) vs Water (new people)…when i say “hoping” i mean as opposed to favorites vs family

My take on the “Blood vs Water” tease is that the producers have taken some of the content from “A Heartbeat from Tomorrow” and are using it for a fresh approach to the game.

Stephanie think of it this way. If you and I were related and playing the game on separate tribes what would happen at the merge? Say you did not have an alliance and I had an alliance of 4 and they wanted to go after you once the merge hit. Do I flip and stay with you because you will still be going home and I would be left stranded to go home next. It would be better to stick with your alliance at that point. So yes blood is thicker than water, but in survivor, alliances (water) is thicker than blood.

Yes there are family but the old question is blood thicker than water when it comes to winning espically if its their kids

Shari you are right! New people are awesome! I would die at a chance to play the game! Even though I am only 19 and have a knee problem that has been dislocated in the past I would love a chance to go compete on a show I have practically watched my entire life.
