‘The Vampire Diaries’ finale spoilers: Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, and feelings

The Vampire DiariesIn the words of another vampire-related TV series, let’s watch a new clip once more, with feeling! “The Vampire Diaries” finale is coming to us on The CW Thursday night, and there are a few things that you can assume from the get-go. For one, there will be elaborate speeches that secretly make us believe we’re watching an epic about the Roman Empire. Two, someone will kiss and awaken the dream of thousands of sleeping shipper fans. And three, Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev are going to use some of that incredibly chemistry (even if they are broken up now) to make people believe that Elena / Damon is really what they want. (Hey, he’s got his shirt off for her…)

The “I don’t care about anyone else” line has to be the moment in the video below (which comes to us via Zap2It), that is the most moving part of it, though that could also be because there is no other part even intended to be moving.

Instead, the first ten seconds are meant as a “feel better” pat on the back for people who are still upset over Kol getting killed off, and we’re not really sure that anyone missed the boyish version of Drogo from “Game of Thrones” (a.k.a. Alexander) who is here to make threats at Rebekah. The whole point here is that with the dead back to life, and the war waging between them and those who released Silas, we are in for a heck of a crazy ride. Let’s just hope that there is an ending here that keeps us on edge, and that the person who takes the cure is anyone other than Elena (mostly because that would be cheesy, expected, and to be frank boring).

In case extended trailers don’t suit for fancy for whatever reason (and in which case Damon laughs at you), there’s a shorter clip for the finale that you can also watch here.
