‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 4 spoilers: Lucy Hale and company go dark (photo)

For a show that airs on a network with the world “family” in the title, “Pretty Little Liars” seems to be a show that is very well familiar with the concept of tragedy. Alison DiLaurentis’ death was, after all, the focal point of the series, and since that time we have lost such people as Maya, Officer Garrett, and whoever the characters are dressing up for here in the first photo from the upcoming season 4 premiere airing on ABC June 11.

In this image, there is clearly not too much that is shown off beyond just the ladies standing around, and looking at something rather ominously. It is still somewhat interesting to see how their fashion has changed and has not changed almost a the same time: Hanna (Ashley Benson) is going a little revealing for a service, whereas Spencer (Troian Bellisario) seems to be somewhat back to her old self after a devastating breakdown that occurred at the end of season 3.

It seems almost ironic that death and a funeral would be playing such a key role in the premiere, especially with the title being “A is for A-l-i-v-e.” It has been rather easy for everyone to assume as of late that this title is really all about Alison, given that it appeared that she was the mysterious “Red Coat” who saved the ladies in the fire. Is it really as easy to figure out as that? We don’t quite have an answer to that just yet, but we will in just over a month’s time.
