‘Glee’ season 4 finale spoilers: Chord Overstreet, Kevin McHale, and ‘Hall of Fame’

Chord OverstreetFor the “Glee” season 4 finale on Thursday night, we’re about to see several members of New Directions venture into a place that they have been a number of times before: Inspirational territory. Specifically, they will be doing so with a song that has already received a little bit of airplay in The Script / will.i.am’s hit “Hall of Fame.”

For all of the talk that the powerhouse ladies get on the show, this song is dominated more by the guys. Chord Overstreet, Kevin McHale, Jacob Artist, and Blake Jenner do most of the heavy lifting on the song, and they are joined even by Samuel Larsen, who is returning for this episode after several weeks completely and totally off the grid. All of the voices here are fluid and strong, and while we will never profess to being fans of when “Glee” does anything related to rap, this is one of their better instances of spitting rhymes that they have done over the years (possibly because it is almost more like spoken-word in the versus than it is rap).

Thanks to a certain twist in the finale, one of the things that we are the happiest about is that the story is not going to end for any of these members of New Directions just yet. There is still more of the senior year to complete for many of these characters, regardless of whether or not they compete in Nationals. This means that Artie, Sam, Tina, and Blaine have a little more time in order to coordinate their futures, while Brittany may already have it in order courtesy of MIT.
